Institute of Paleobiology has organized and participated in scientific expeditions to various areas of the world.

Paleontological excavations in Miedary
2015-2016
In 2015 - 2016, in Miedary near Tarnowskie Góry, the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, together with the Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw, conducted excavation work, during which layers of Triassic shell limestone were searched for fish teeth, bivalves and bones of marine reptiles.

Annopol, Poland
2008-2015
In the years 2008–2015, prof. Marcin Machalski from the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences organized excavations in the vicinity of Annopol. The aim of this work was to collect Cretaceous (Albian and Cenomanian) fossils and reconstruct their taphonomy (i.e. processes leading to their preservation).

Research expedition to Greenland
2014
In July 2014, the Institute of Paleobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences organized a research expedition to East Greenland. The participants of the expedition searched for the remains of Late Triassic vertebrates. Systematic work resulted in a rather rich collection of fossil bones and tracks.
As the greatest success should be considered the finding of mammalian remains.
